The Brown County Commissioners Court
convened in a
Special
Session on May 22, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. in the Commissioner’s Courtroom, Brown
County Courthouse, 200 South Broadway Brownwood, Texas. Judge Pro-Tem Kelton called the meeting to
order. Members of the Court present

A. Opening prayer. Rick Phelps led the Court in the invocation.
B. Reading and approval of minutes. Commissioner Shaw
moved that the minutes of the May 15, 2017 meeting
be approved, as presented by County Clerk Sharon Ferguson. Commissioner Traweek seconded
the motion and the Court voted 4-0 to approve.
C. Recognition of visitors.
D.
Matter of new business to be presented to the
Court for
its consideration and action as appropriate. Items may not be taken in the order that they
are listed.
Item #1:
Joel Kelton, Pct 2-Consideration and possible approval of action
regarding burn ban. After discussion, no
action was taken. The burn ban remains
lifted.
Item #2:
Chris Furry, LifeGuard Ambulance-Consideration and possible approval
declaring the week of May 21-27 as EMS Week.
After discussion, with Chris Furry, LifeGuard EMS Chief, Commissioner
Worley moved that the Court approve an EMS Week Proclamation to proclaim the
week of May 21-27, 2017 as Emergency Medical Services Week in Brown
County. Commissioner Traweek seconded
the motion and the Court voted 4-0 to approve.

Item #3:
Terry Newton, Newton Operating and Consulting-Consideration and possible
approval of ratification of oil and gas lease on Thrifty Park. After discussion, with Terry Newton, Judge
West moved that the Court approve a Lease Ratification And Joinder between
Brown County and Diamin Inc/Mission Energy.
Commissioner Traweek seconded the motion and the Court voted 5-0 to
approve. (Exhibit #2)
E.
Reports. The May 22, 2017 Combined Statement of Cash
Position was presented by County Treasurer Ann
Krpoun, for filing.
The
Court reported on the procedures that need to be taken to fill the un-expired
term of Justice of the Peace Precinct #1 Walter B. Croft who passed away on May
12, 2017.
F.
Consideration
and approval of bills. Commissioner
Kelton
moved that the claims, as presented by County Auditor
Jennifer Robison, be paid. Commissioner
Worley seconded the motion and the Court voted 4-0 approve. (Exhibit #4)
G.
Recess.
Commissioner Traweek moved that the Court recess
until June 5, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. in the Commissioners
Courtroom. Commissioner Kelton seconded
the motion and the Court voted 4-0 to approve.
